Toxic chemicals aren't supposed to be in your home. Enter my contest and have a chance to win green cleaners to clean up your home and the environment
Green cleaners get toxic chemicals out of your home. Nobody want to breathe in toxins and bad chemicals, but that’s what you’re doing if you aren’t using safe cleaners.
Did you know that you and your children are exposed to hundreds of
toxic chemicals
everyday?
Since World War II, over 70,000 man-made chemicals have been introduced into products used in our homes. Since then, an unprecedented rise in childhood diseases has occurred. The typical home contains over 63 hazardous products that contain hundreds of different chemicals.
Your home is the number one source of toxic chemicals.
Women who work in the home have a 54% greater risk of developing cancer than those who work outside the home.
Here is a statement from the Environmental Protection Agency report in 1985: “The toxic chemicals in household cleaners are three times more likely to cause cancer than air pollution.”
How do toxins get into our bodies?
Toxic chemicals get into our body through ingestion, inhalation, and absorption. Within 26 seconds after exposure to chemicals such as cleaning products, traces of these chemicals can be found in every organ in the body!
Children are more susceptible to toxins because of age related differences in absorption, metabolism, and detoxification, as well as physical and biological differences such as body size and the maturity of body systems.
Because
children
are exposed to toxins at an earlier age than adults, they have more time to develop environmentally triggered diseases such as cancer.
What do these toxins cause?
• Asthma, which was rare in 1900, is now considered an epidemic. It is the most common childhood chronic disease.
• Brain cancers, which rose in children by 40% from 1973-1993.
• ADD and other learning disorders. In 1998, 11.4 million children were on Ritalin, a class 2 narcotic.
The effects of these toxic chemical exposures can become evident in later years as learning disabilities, attention deficit disorders, mental retardation or personality and behavior difficulties such as shyness, hyperactivity, aggression or even violent tendencies and lack of conscience.
Chlorine,
which is found in dishwashing detergent, bleach, and many more cleaners, can cause a dramatic change of personality and ability to think, disturbed mood, impaired thinking, and attention problems.
Only 10% of chemicals in cleaning products have been tested for the ability to cause nervous system disorders.
There is a well known allergist in Canada who won’t even see a new patient until they have rid their home of toxic cleaning supplies for 6 months!
Now that you know there’s a problem, you can control the air in your home by replacing all toxic cleaning supplies, including laundry detergent and dish detergent, with safer products. Open your windows and let the “fresher” air in. Don’t spray harmful aerosols into the air.
The choices we make today to make our home healthier will have a direct impact on our health and the health of our children and grandchildren as they grow up.
I think the switch to green cleaners is one of the most important things we can do for our homes and the environment. You can feel good about this switch!
